I needed to see first hand how things were there so I shot over after work fully expecting to not ride but just get some info. I took the direct route through town (Belfair) and up Sand Hill Rd from 300 to the staging area - no problems at all. Unfortunately, when you get there the trails are posted, CLOSED! There were a few guys riding in the pit so I unloaded my bike and took a few laps. Trails closed, pit area still OK to ride. I did see some guys take off down twards the river on bikes and when they didn't come back I new they hit the trails. Damn, I really wanted to follow 'em, and after a while I did ride down to the river to look around and promtly met the DNR checking trails. The guy didn't beat me up too bad, but he wasn't thrilled to see me either. He did tell me that overall things weren't too bad but the Mission Creek trail (I think) was pretty hammered and would be closed for quite sometime. I don't know when the trails will OFFICIALLY open, but generally, there's alot of standing water -duh!. The little bit I rode wasn't bad, just typical winter time Tahuya. I don't know if it will be open for the weekend, there's nothing current that I found on their website, so when, where and how the message gets out :excuseme: that's all I got -CC
Went to Tahuya today.
