Only working a half day on Thurs. I'd love to get to Tahuya and check out the carnage if it's possible. The Befair-Tahuya Rd is closed at the bridge, but do you think I could get to the Mission Creek staging area and launch there?
Is Tahuya possible?

If you can get to Mission Creek than you should be able to get anywhere once on your dirt bike. Although, no guarantees with the extensive water they've had there.

We should know more tomorrow at the focus group meeting in Belfair. Tahuya Rat over on KTMTalk has all the specifics. I plan on attending if I don't have to work on Friday. T-Rat called the DNR the other day and they said it was shut down as of Tuesday, but that could change. Better to wait and let all the water drain and then go out and see what kind of damage has been done. They will definately need volunteer hours to repair a lot of the trails that are rutted out from the rain, probably some windfall too. I could only imagine the damage that has been done. My thoughts go out to all the people affected by this storm.

Current Road closures for Belfair/Tahuya list all of North Shore road closed. That would mean no access to Belfair/Tahuya rd. As well lower elfendahl is closed. This is the side of Elfendahl rd south of Belfair/Tahuya rd.
Until water recedes the only access to Tahuya Trails would be to get on Old Belfair Hwy from gorst, past gold mountain golf course, then onto Bear Creek Dewatto rd. Bear Creek rd goes past the North end of Sand Hill rd, over to Elfendahl pass rd, all the way west to Dewatto bay rd.
Another route would be to get on Old Belfair hwy in Belfair and go north to Bear creek rd. A shorter route but not sure of the road conditions this close to Belfair.
If anyone gets out there this weekend please post a report of the trail conditions.

Quite a few problems with the roads over there...
I'm sure the trails are just as bad...

According to that map it appears you could park @ the gravel pit or possibly Mission Creek. Once there I doubt you'll get far w/o a saw. YMMV.
