Brett, did you get the KTM fixed?

We came home with three busted bikes and one first place trophy.

Not fixed yet. Still waiting on parts.

I really need to know how you came off the line first, hit the start turn in 4th, almost missed the green arrow, and went into the woods near last????? This was your tail man!

Get the video posted Bro. I gotta see this. My GoPro was in my back pack when I ate it. Take care of the finger, and if there is anything you need let me know. You know where I work.

The CR should arrive Thursday. My timing SUCKS!

Here is the video. Thats what I get for riding a the cr before I have it resprung. I guess I caught a square edge or something and it sent me into an endo and just ran out of room to get it set back down. Try not to laugh too hard lol.

Brett

Do a search on KTM talk or post there. Lot's of good info/advice on that forum. Sorry I have not done one of those yet. I did one on my CRF 450 but I am sure they are different.

There is no way I'm enduring another weekend in the bed.

One way or another I'd like to be on the trails next weekend. Even if it's for just an hour.

1 minute before I popped the front tire, I passed the leader at mile 8. Stopped at the ditch jump and waited for a friend also. Weird day, but I had fun.

Good race today at FTR HS. This course is always sandy and whooped out. This year it had better flow. They can't do much about the sand since the whole property is that way. I will say that the first and second lap the track held up well. Lines formed and you could use the sand berms to keep your corner speed up. However by the 3rd lap a lot of the turns were blown out with deep sugar sand and lines criss crossing everywhere. The mix of tight single track, open fields, and palmetto sections was perfect. I am still amazed at how the 300 2t performs. I have taken my single track pace to a new level. On my old 450 I would lose time in the single track and it would wear me out, now I look forward to it. I think the 300 is quicker in the open fields too and allows me to brake later because it is so much lighter and easier/controllable to slow and turn.

I got a good start (about 5 or 6) and was showing my front wheel to the guy in front of me through the first few turns. I got a break when we hit a tight section and the guy in front of him stalled and fell. I was then in the tight stuff and no one was behind me. I hit a small open section and was on the gas and realized too late I was following "old trail" and missed a double green. I had to circle back and go through it (3 guys went by as I did that). Finished the first lap in 8th. Had a great second lap going and then went down on a off camber sandy ridge. Two guys went by. I caught one quickly and passed him. The other is a guy I can't usually hang with. However today I was "haulin the mail". I caught him and was on his rear fender all through the rest of the second lap and right behind him at the scoring chicane. We had a open field section where I tried several different lines and finally got up beside him and on the inside of the next turn. I took the line and passed him. Rode about half the third lap with no one pressing me and then knifed in on a sandy turn. The same 2 guys went by as I was getting back on the bike. I caught the one guy again and passed him but ran out of race time to catch the other guy again. I finished 10th but felt very good about my race even with the 2 crashes.

I seem to be gaining some momentum these last couple of races and hope it holds out till the end of the season. Next up is Ona and I believe that is another race with a lot of sand.

Mark, nice report, as always.

Someone forgot to turn the heater on Sunday morning. It was 38 degrees when we started the practice lap. I had a Under Armour base layer, two t-shirts, my jersey, and a polar fleece for the practice lap- I could have worn more. The sun would come out, clouds go away, and just glorious weather for the 10:30am race.

Hoping to pull another hole shot, I was excited for the start. After warming up my trusty steed, I reached down and pulled my shifter up from neutral to 2nd, or so I thought. At the start, I jumped on my bike, hit the magic button, and popped the clutch. Nothing. I was in neutral. I did the quickest thing and just stepped on it and put it into first. Popped the clutch, almost went off the back when I wheelied. Got control, shifted into second, but I was in the back third of the pack going into the first corner.

The course was typical Florida- sand, sand, palmetto roots, more sand, and an few more roots. The open fields were grassy, and a small amount of dirt in places. I can't imagine how bad this would have been had they not received a little rain late last week. There were many ditches (troughs?) that ran perpendicular to the course- my forearms remind me of this. There were a few areas of the trail that were marked less well, and I also wound up off course during the first lap.

I got three laps in, finished 7th (I think 12 in my class). I faded bad in the last lap- fitness, fitness, fitness. Riding all day at L-cross Saturday probably did not help.

Looking forward to Ona on the 26th. I'd love to make the Raines Racing class on Friday, but doubt I'll be able to get out of work.

Hello all; new to TT. Live in Indian River County.

Recently bought a KTM 2-stroke (after not having ridden for about 18 years).

So far I've been to Scottsmoor and took my chances at 'the compound' (those of you in the area probably know where it is).

Wondering if anyone would like to introduce me to any 'secret spots' in my area so I don't have to spend $50+ round-trip for gas in my Dad's gas-slurping Dodge pickup? :bonk:

thanks in advance

I've ridden ONF many, many times, but haven't been lately. If I get back up there I'll hit you up.

I'll never buy another bike without seeing it first.

I had a guy build me a CR500 AFC. Finally I'm getting back on my feet, so I tried to start her.

2 days later I resolved an electrical issue, and she starts. Today I took off to work on her.

Every time I start the bike oil comes leaking from a different place.

Sounds good. I usually camp at Lake In the Forest on the south end, or Salt Springs rec area on the north end.
