Just took my 2009 TXC450 out for her first real test yesterday after completing break in. My dealer said the cross over tube issue has been fixed as none of the bikes they delivered this year have had a failure, so I didn't bother looking for any stronger tubing. I was crawling through a real tight enduro section, heard a little ffsssstttt sound, and a white cloud formed and rose up between my arms. Now I have some little burns on my arms (nothing serious) that are telling me that EVERYONE should change this tube before they ride in anything tight.

My dealer was coming out for a ride in our trail system today, so he brought me a replacement cross over, some clamps, and antifreeze, and I got to do another 25 miles on her today with no issues. I'm loving this bike.

Next weekend, we go to our first hare scramble together...

i have been searching an unable to find a thread concerning a te 450-510 that was being prepped for endurance racing. the OP mentioned alot of things he did that were great diy mods and must do things the one im looking for on his post is he mentions adding washers to the clutch springs to remedy the dragging clutch issue.....

Thanks in advance coffee

I have a 2011 Husky TE250 and want to remove the throttle stop and Air Box Restrictor. I am pretty machanically inclinled and think I can remove these myself, I'm just not sure exactly what they are. Does anyone have a photo or instructions to removed these two items?
Thank you.

Exhaust manifold guard! (TE449)

Ha! Just went for a short ride to the local gas station for my first fill up and set my jeans on fire! Admittedly less of a problem with mx boots on, but I don't want to burn holes in those either...

I burnt my pants as well. When you think about it, it's pretty outrageous they don't come factory fitted with some kind of guard. So much for German engineering lol

Wrap the pipe ..it saves the gear, helps the performance ...can't leave everything to the German

1st on the list for my 2011 txc449 was a heat shield for the header, a real boot burner.
handguards were next.
gas and go.

My friend let his DRZ400SM sit for 2 months and it clogged the pilot jet so badly we just replaced it. Definiitely a good spot to start.

i just added the "mountain engineering" clutch lever to my 2011 txc449, this lever reduces pull by over 50%, i will post back after this weekend rides, and report
