I did something boneheaded like that once. I was trying to roost a friend of mine but my new D606 had too much traction and grabbed where my old K270 would have just spun. Hard to look cool when your legs are flailing and the front wheel is 2 feet up.
Oops - Dumbass!

Been there, done that, got the dumbass t-shirt...

Was rolling along on my CR500, new chain and sprockets as well as rear tire, goosed it on some hardpack, hello new Meier rear fender and new exhaust can!

This guy gets the XXL dumbass t-shirt though:

OK I will confess as well. When I was 16 I had an KDX400 and was trying to impress a girl at my neighbors house when I cracked the throttle hard and dumped the little clutch lever in second gear only to find myself holding on to the bars, running, dragging and feeling a big gulp of panic in trying to keep this giant green monster from plowing a brand new Caddy that was sitting in the driveway. So I fought it the whole way and missed the car but smacked right into a cement picnic table which left some nice scars on me and the bike. Needless to say the girl was not impressed at all! Come on though, I was 16!
