426 Year

My buddy just bought a 426 that the guy said was an 02. But the registration says it was first sold in 2001. What differences are there between the 00,01,02 models so that we can figure out the year. Thanks

The tenth character of the VIN code is the model year identifier. 2000 was a Y. After that, they started over with numbers. 2001= "1" , 2002="2" in the tenth position.

Take a look on the swing arm . if the hol for the bolt is round it is 00 or 01 if it is straight in less then half of the circle it is 02
