It appears that we use the same technique for wrenching on our bikes... drop the tool on the ground as soon as you're done with it hahah. Nice bike though!
In the second pic it looks like your exhaust is pretty banged up. I'd keep an eye out for used pipes being sold... My stocker looked the same way when I replaced it and I couldn't believe the difference in throttle response and power when I put a new one on. The new one has a carbon fiber guard and I haven't had any issues with dents yet.

yea I picked up a stock pipe and silencer for $35 looks about mint just 2 very small dents.  I'll probably put it on when I a bit of a better rider though lol and when winter comes around I use the freeze water to see if I can pop out that nasty pipe you see on the bike currently.

This is a friends project bike. An 89 YZ250 purchased for $100 and an additional $300 in parts. That gas tank is Rhino Lining and actually looks pretty awesome. It was either the old yellowed tank, a new one, or this. I rode it today and it runs real smooth although there is absolutely no top end whatsoever. Not sure if it's a power valve problem or if these bikes just have no top end in stock trim.

Always fun to see a cheap project bike roosting though...

Nice bike.  I've always dug black YZ's.  I had a 95 back in the day that was solid black like yours and I also had the frame powder coated black.  I ran chrome numbers so the bike got some attention at the track lol

Just a couple pics of the 250 from last week. Last pic is when I still had my 125, both 2008's.

Had this bike since brand new- I've posted it in here before but I've done a whole bunch of work to it this year so might as well post it again.

Stripped the bike down to the frame over winter to grease and clean everything up. Along the way, I replaced all the bearings as well as a new top end. I decided that the bike felt like new, so might as well make it look that way with some new goodies. Got a bit carried away I guess haha.... Now she has new plastic, graphics, seat cover, grips, brake pads, rear disk, blue cv4 rad hoses (not pictured,) scorpion rad braces, wc skid plate, and some new meats front and rear. I also decided to take off the FMF Gnarly and powercore2 combo I had on, since I decided the stock pipe suited my riding style much better. Anyways, here's my baby all freshened up and ready to attack some tight single track. Brraaaap!
