I recently bought the Zeta RX clamp kit that bolts directly into my clamp so I didnt have to get the 1 1/8 adapters that bolt into the stock mounts to put on my Pro Tapers. My bar mounts keep tweaking out of place (even when just riding somehow) so I have to take off the front plate, CDI box and the metal holder it bolts to, in order to straighten it back out as much as possible. My only problem with my RX kit is that the bolts are super long so they get in the way of the metal hooks that hold the throttle cable on the right, and the kill switch, clutch cable, and hot start cable on the left. When I turn my bars, with everything tightened down, the bolts from the kit hit that metal holder. I tried to bend them and they still get in the way. My question is, will it hurt if I cut off the hooks and allow my cables to roam free or should I try to somehow cut the bolts down on my clamp kit? I cannot just substitute the bolts in the kit because the heads on them are big ovals that sit flush into the lower mounts to hold them in place. THANKS IN ADVANCE!

I would cut down your bolts, then refile them for proper threading and such...

I usually thread a nut or two to the hilt, cut the bolt, then un-thread the nuts one at a time and it cleans up the threads.

Personally I would not run without the cable guides.

Thanks for all the replies! I ended up buying a dremel bit to cut through the bolt and was guaranteed it should work, so far it hasnt done much but strip off some thread. When I have more time ill have to try and get all the way through the bolt if I can. Open_Class and/or anyone else, what do you use to cut your bolts?

I cut bolts with a GOOD hacksaw.

I have a dremmel that I use a side cutting wheel with. On larger bolts I use a good hacksaw blade.
