First ride on 07 wr450

I finally took my 450 out for a good ride. I put on 60 miles today, riding everything sand, whoops, gnarly hill climbs, tight canyons, and fast double track. I love this bike, after reading a lot about this bike I thought I new what to expect. Boy was I off, the bike handeled better and had more power then I thought it would. I was actually startled by the power at first, but once I was use to the power of the bike I loved it. I always tried to ride my kdx a gear higher and it did ok until you hit a hill or wanted to carry the front tire a little. Not the 450 it loved being a gear higher give the throttle a little bump the font end does the same. I finally feel like the bike is part of me. The electric start is awsome it fired up everytime. Even after having to lay the bike on its side to help a young lady that was stuck on a hill climb. I loved climbing hills with this bike it never missed a beat. Thanks to everyone that posted about this bike most of you described the bike perfectly. This forum was what convinced me to buy a WR450. Can't wait tull the next ride!

I made the switch to an 06 WR450 about 4 months ago from XR600. I did this mainly for the electric start. Now after having this bike I realize I should have done this sooner. It tractors almost like the 600 but the power up top is great. It handles so much better and the reduced weight in tight trails is a big plus. Had it out today for some hill climbs.

I totally relate.

It's a hoot to ride and a bitch to pick up when you drop it on a hill.

The Easy Button is one of my favorite features.
