Ight so here I am, about a month and a half until I get my 08 kx 450f....I was thinking I should get after market suspension, I'm 6'5" and I weigh about 210 so I was thinking I should invest in heavy duty suspension....So which is the best to get for the kx?

For Kawi's or any bike with Kayaba for that matter you can't beat Enzo suspension. They pretty much lead the way for Kayaba revalving.

Well the shop im getting the bike from will throw them on fo free, but yeh I have heard enzo suspension is good....I had race tech on my last bike and they were pretty good but I'm wanting to get as stiff as possible ya know....is pro circuit or marshall any good? So I just buy the springs right?

Ok, it's sounding to me like all your your looking for is heavier springs not actuall full revalved suspension, is that right?? If so you can basically take your pick for springs, go to the dealer and get heavier factory springs, or race tech and factory connection can both set you up with the proper springs.

I went with Enzo's springs... as they are factory KYB units (I have found that Factory Connection and Eibach springs lose strength faster). If you moto and are around a b/c rider i would expect they would recommend .49 forks and 5.8 for your shock... I got .50 and 6.0 but am 225lbs.... they work awesome!

depending on your riding level you may get away with just adjusting your clickers with the stock setup, I weigh 210 and have been fine so far.

First bike I have had that I just did the springs (220lb) and put good oil in, and left the valving as is.

Working really well.

hmm well I do ride pretty hard on a scale from 1 to 10 im probably 7. I probably could just have the bike set up with the stock suspension but id rather be safe than sorry idk what kinda riding are you doing flashh?

I have been doing a lot of sand track riding with the clickers turned almost all the way in and have been getting away with it, if I start doing more motocross I think Ill go to just springs to match my style better, Im getting a lot more air on a reg motocross track and I also bottom out a big g-outs, but still have been satisfied so far. spring time I think I will do springs, in fork and the shock.

Open class what did you change your springs to, are you 220 with gear or without, Im probably 220 with gear.

How did you figure this out (just out of curiosity)?

220 no gear. Using the Eibach 5.8 rear and .49 front. Put a 24mm break in the compression valve stack up front otherwise stock shims stack. Rear shim stack is stock and working great with the heavier spring.

Thats all I did on my 06 except for the PC link. It works great for me and my FC springs have yet to sack out. .49's on the front and 6.0 on the rear.

I want to know this too as I've never had either companies springs sack out on anything. I'm calling BS on that one.

did measurements of the spring itself, on and off the bike, also did load testing with weight vs length reduction of the springs ( vs when new ).

then again, this was back in 1998, so things may have changed. nothing against your products, but, if im going to spnd top dollar, want what i view as the best... if i recieved a discount on one spring or another, it would be a different story.
