It was crazy mad. It turned out in the end that when I put in the new hard drive I didn't turn off the windows firewall. I am running another firewall and set it up to let me upload to the site but, the windows firewall was stopping it. Round and round fighting looking for what was stopping me from fixing the site. Thanks for the support.

New address to Borynack's XR650R web site:

http://borynack.com/XR650R/

or

http://borynack.com/xr650r.htm

They need work but, some of them work.

Bruce, how did you arrive at the conclusion that RT and LE spec their springs too stiff?

FYI I have .49s in my L (no latte jokes please). Normally I run my front way susp a little stiff, on this bike the turning absolutely sucks with this setting.

FYI 220 lbs, 10 - 15 lb pack.

The "L" is a whole different bike. The extra 50 pounds has to be supported by more spring. I am sprized that you only need .49kg/mm with the pack. Most all the guys have come to see that the spring chart from XR's only is the way to go. Barnum, PC, Baja Designs all use that same chart that is on the site. RaceTech and LE use a software program that was biult for MX suspension. I thought Racetech fixed there program after I talked o them and now it is real close to the same if you chose the enduro setting.

I noticed that

http://borynack.com/XR650R/

and

http://borynack.com/xr650r.htm

look totaly different. Are they mirrored sites? Going through the shim stacks I am starting to see that it is not that many shims that I need to buy but, some moved from other stacks. In the forks you added .40mm X 10mm shims or something like that. What are they for? You wrote that they are not really needed? Do ou have some time to write a page of step by step of what each change does. Maybe I can make a chart for you once I get the idea of what - what does. Sometimes a picture makes things click better for those taking the big step of doing this work theirself. I did it and bought to many shims because I didn't see the big picture. The suspension is awesome different and I couldn't think of it being better but, now that I have done it I am starting to see more of what is going on the more I look at this stuff. Things start popping out of comparing the charts and reading all of it and not just the stuff that I thought I had to read. There is a lot of stuff hidden in links and pages that don't work anymore but, I am starting to find it.

Try mx-tech.com for shims, I bought all the ones I needed to do the Baja setup for under 20 bucks, they didnt have some listed on their site, so I emailed them and they had them anyway. You can buy the shims in singles or in packs of 10. They were very plesent to deal with:thumbsup:
