I am have this noise in my clutch when I release the clutch lever. It is a humming noise. The noise is only if I am starting for a dead start. The noise continues until the clutch is released fully. The bike may have only 100 miles on it. I for the most, part only use it for hill climbing and only ride it for 13 seconds at the most at a time. (well I warm it up and ride it around to warm the engine up.) Anyone else experence this sound?
Thanks Brian

...As I mentioned in the other "clutch problem thread", do a search and they are many threads that will have the fix you are looking for. This was very common for this year YZ. As a matter of fact, I had taken my bike back to the dealer and they installed the fix under the guise of warranty repair

I have an 07 yz450 and have the reverse of your problem, when I have my clutch out it's noisey, when I pull it in, it's quiet, pulled my clutch plates out and found my basket was mashed, quick $200 fix!

Same as the '01 fix:
http://www.thumperta...ad.php?t=461631 The inner friction plate, boss spring and plate mentioned here will help. My '03 had a full Hinson in it when I bought it (lucky me), and did not have that problem, but the original build of the bike was known for it.

To an extent, this is an entirely normal noise:
