2008 KX450F. Well I just read it and it's not very good. They claim it's poor handling and has a sissified engine. Not at all what I expected; then again they've always seemed to be Honda & Yami guys. Their claims contradicted what so many of us that have them and have lived with them have learned over time like the correct fork height setting (they were at 5mm) and the fact that the PC linkage doesn't work very well with it (they claim it's a must-have). Oh well, I'll just have to enjoy my sissified POS all by myself.:p

Yeh, very ironic. What you said above is all I've ever heard from anyone about it. Hard to explain why they reviewed it that way if you ask me; I suspect ulterior motives. :excuseme:

No way anyone calls the 08 KXF motor pussified. the 07 and 08 Yami 450 motor yes, but the Kawi? no way.
In fact last year they said the KXF was the fastest corner to corner of any bike.

They did claim the '07 was slightly more powerful than the '08; down 2hp by their measurements.
I really suspect that they already have their '08 450F shootout winner's deal signed & sealed and are just beginning to justify their actions. What a load! And I subscribed to them this year for the first time in decades. I used to get subscriptions every year for Christmas when I was a kid.

They will talk about how the new exhaust loads up the motor but a simple DrD exhaust pipe change and you will have the most "usable", "rideable", "yada, yada"...
any bets?

The best review you can have, is the one with yer own azz on the bike. No one is better qualified than yourself to give an opinion of how the bike feels...

Bottom line read with suspicion and make your own decision.

No they hated the way the yamaha turns and said the motor was weak. I think they like the kawasaki better. Honda or suzuki will probably win the shootout. I think all of the bikes are good these days and it just comes down to rider preference etc.

Haha! Did you read the review yet? They actually did suggest it for the KX450F. I'm not sure if the paper version of the mag is out yet I get the e-version.

I was intrigued by the fact that they (MXA) claimed it lowered the rear by 12mm. Since I'm not as tall as many here (5'9") I wondered if that wouldn't be a good thing?

From what i understand, MXA already tested the 08 yamaha and they thrashed it completely. Kinda disproves the theory that they are yamaha guys.
