I just purchased my first Kawasaki. Have had Yamahas and Hondas. I got a spankin new 2006 KX450. I worried a little about the 4 speed but it was fine. Leave it in second and hit thrid sometimes for the most part. On to my problem. I never suffered from blisters when I worked construction. Now that I am a Network nerd and I don't ride often enough, my hands are like Saran Wrap. Do any of you guys tape? If so, is there a proper way to do this. Or, is using tape a bad idea? Thanks for the comments in advance.

Please tell me you're NOT riding with stock Kawasaki grips! They are made of a compound that is FAR too hard. Get some soft Renthals or ANYTHING but stock.
I only have to tape for a specific problem. I also use grip donuts to prevent thuimb blisters.

Ck out seal savers they make a product calles palm savers, They help get me through the long practice motos. Also Renthal dual compound kevlar grips are the way to go-they are an odd piss color but man they are the best. Stock kawasaki grips will out last your hands no contest. You will be reduced to a 1/4 pound of hamburger meat on the end of each wrist if immediate action is not taken.

I really like the factory grips. But then again, I like construction work, like drywall. 12 ft 5/8. After a week of that I can hold anything.

I thought everyone got blisters? :excuseme:
Are you guys that are getting blisters wearring gloves? I find that not only do common, fairly cheap MX gloves prevent blisters but they also make your choice of grips less critical. The way I see it; a couple less things to worry about.

I got farmers hands, wear good gloves, got good grips and I still get blisters after big rides.
I wonder what I'm doing wrong?
But maybe I'm doing it right

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm... JNickell wrote: "I get blisters, I don't ride much, and I work on computers". JNickell - Perhaps you have what we call "Tender Paw"!!!! Come on', Everyone gets blisters regardless of how much you ride. If you ride more often you'll build up calluses, but you may still get blisters - It's just part of the game.
