xr650l Clark 4.0 tank to much play

Hi, i have a clark 4.0 on my 650l and all bolts are tight but the tank has a lot of play and moves aroung to much on the rubber an my petcok is hitting the engine when the tank moves, has anyone else hade this problem Thanks!!!

I had the same problem with mine. My fix was to replace the wire that connects across the front of the tank with a piece of 1/8" flat steel about 3/8" wide, I put a twist in the center of this "bar" to align with the origanl "wing mount" locations, drilled the bar to allow me to thru bolt using the "wing mount" locations. This makes the tank rock solid.

It works! Also try zip tying some foam to your frame under your tank.
