yz 400 stator

Will a wr 400 stator fit a yz 400. Also does it require a new side cover.
I am going to dual sport a 99 yz 400. Another questions is it possable to get the stock stator rewound.

Yes, it will fit, and no, you don't need a new side cover. You can not get the YZ stator rewound as it has no provisions for a lighting coil. In addition to the stator, you will need a WR flywheel. 426 parts are better (unless you already have the 400 stuff), as the output is significantly higher.
