i´m thinking to buy a 08´kx450f for sm, but i have a question:
won´t a 160 tire on a 5" rim whill rub on the chain/arm.
a friend of mine raced on a ´06 model and he had to shave off a bit of the rear arm so that it would fit

I just want to make sure that just by changing the offset is enought. anyway, i´ll go measure my yamy´s swingarm whitdh and compare it whith the kawa´s today(monday ) at the dealer. I realy apreciate if someone who allready did it whould reply. also I don´t mind if the chain rubbs the tire a couple of mms

I done it to many, with a slight wheel offset and a slight sprocket spacing you will be fine. Or run a 150......

i´m thinking about racing so that´s out of the question...
unless I run pirelli´s but they´r hard to get around here, only by ordering large amounts. but I bet that if I run dunlop´s they whill fit alot better.

I've raced with a 150 so outta the question..............?? Steers quicker works fine. I do use race DOT's though. The dunlops do fit better, the Michelins are wider as 160's for sure. I've never tried the Pirellies.

The Dunlop slicks are nice, but i find the front chatters. I'm really happy with the Michelin power race DOT's, their cut slick is supposed to be the hot ticket.

For next year i'm finally going to offset MY rim, and run the 160 Michelin slick.

Michelin Power Race softs. I'll shag a rear in a long day, but the grip is stellar, and the feed back is really good to. The front hangs in there pretty good if you're on a tight budget.
