hi guys..
i got a 1996 xr250. Digital meter model. i hv a manual for the Xr250 from 1996 to 2000 and the carburetor shown in that is different to what i got on my bike. the carb is keihin but dont know what model it is. also checked other bikes with digital meters and they also have the same carb. its jetted to 45 pilot and 136 main. the problem i'm having is that its such a gas guzzler. I mean i get about 20kmpl. tried jetting it lesser and that only makes the bike miss a lot no matter how much i tune it.
i was thinking about getting a carb from the non digital meter model (slightly smaller carb thats shown in the service manual for non digital) as i've heard that carb does fuel pretty decently.
also the carb model that my bike is using currently is having an acceleration sensor. (which is broken).
anyways how fuel efficient is an XR250? how many miles kilometers per litre? i dont race this bike or anythin like that. Its mainly used for commuting to and from work. And maybe take it out on a few small trails and a few jumps during the weekend.
pls advice me on what i shud do guys..
tks.

Just as a [probably useless] indicator, i have roughly calculated 140-150 kms to a tank out of mine before i got it rebored, and that was mountain riding.
Stockish, apart from the usual Gordons and a Ballards muffler.
94Xr250 with original tank btw.

tks. dat means about 21 kmpl right?
dat means if ur modified bike does that much, then my bike with no mods except for an exhaust shud be able to do more right? i mean be more economical?

You would think so wouldn't you.
[said in a sincere tone btw lol, gotta luv the written word]
Logic says that you should get more than that, but reality says that if your bike is stock with all the boggy restrictions in place then you will actually get less mpg.
