L gas cap vent tubing

what is the ID measurement? 3/8ths?

Can't help on the hose size but another option is one of those fancy check valves that lets the tank vent but won't let fuel out. I put one on mine, it came with an inch or 2 of hose and just sits on the cap. Bike's laid over a few times and never leaked a drop.

Just went to the garage and measured, it's 3/16ths of an inch.

That is on a '05 XR650L.

you guys suck with your backwards environmental policies!

Here in California we respect the environment so much that we require the use of spring-loaded vented gas cans that burp fuel (and fuel vapor) into the atmosphere (and all over your bike/lawn mower) in huge quantities at a time. I loved ripping that octopus off the side of my bike - at least we don't have to smog our bikes here... yet.

And now for a rant: I'm sure my small 4-stroke is putting out way more emissions that the hundreds of baja california plated cars I see driving through San Diego county everyday with no smog equipment whatsoever, no smog fees, no clean gas additives if they buy it in TJ, no registration fees, no dmv reflective license plate fees. ? Wonder why the Air Resources Board doesn't regulate them?
