XR invisible to radar?

Most states give you an allowable time to sit there and after that you can treat it like a stop sign and then go, ive heard here in CA its something like 2 cycles of the light that if it doesnt change then you look n go. TRY putting your kickstand down it helps me out on some lights.

I don't know about the XRL but I can tell you that a '93 ZX-7 Ninja can't be seen at 280...

I don't know for sure if they use magnetics or weight in the street for the signals but I have always had trouble triggering light(20 years of bikes) with everything from a gsxr750 to my xrl.

And it pisses me off to no end when I see the thing under me and pull up all the way into a cross walk so the car behind me can run onto it and they just sit back there.. oblivious because they never had to deal with it.. ?

Oh and theres a "your speed is" thing on my way to work I trip every morning.

Mythbusters,? on the Discovery Channel, had a show on trying to fool radar one time. It was with a full size car, but none of the myths worked, such as using tin-foil to scramble the signal. So much for covering my helmet with foil!?

Definitely not invisible. I was ripping down HWY 87, just connecting some trails......on the highway about 8 miles. A sheriff pulls me over and said I was going 72 mph in a 65 mph. I don't have a speedo on my bike, so i am sure he was right. He didn't give me a ticket, though, he said he wanted to make sure I was not a resevation indian running up and down the highway illegally(apparently a problen in that area). He was inpressed with my stealth license plate velcroed to the fender-he said he couldn't even see it until he was right up on me.

I've been hit by ladar on a XR, its not invisible. Being made of very few ferrous materials has nothing to do with being invisible to radar. The lasers the cops use could probably pick up a bird.

Lasar is a direct line of site tool. You must be in the site of the officer using to gun to get clocked (correctly). Also Lasar must be stationary where radar can be in motion.

When you got clocked were there any other cars on the road near you. He might have picked up the car and thought it was you. It can be argued to your advantage in court if you were in traffic.

Triggering a Red Lite to Change to Green

At a Stoplite,

The cuts in the asphalt are for Wires.

The Steel on your car/ bike

cause a change in the magnetic field,

that causes the lite to Change.

So I have been told.

That is why putting your Kickstand down

can cause the lite to Change.

Kickstand down, or even attach a rare-earth magnet to your kickstand works ok, but it is way easier to bring your RPM up to 2000 or so where the EM field of the charging system is strong enough to trip the loop sensor.

Sorry Bibleman, you're friend is dreaming. I use radars at work. As previously stated, they can clock baseballs and I have even used they to clock bicycle riders, just out of curiosity. Furthermore, the newest radars that incorporate laser tracking are almost impossible to defeat, though it will be a long time before I get my hands on one of those.

Keep in mind that the newer digital radar units can also filter out vehicles traveling away from, or towards the officer. So if an officer only wants to monitor vehicles headed in his direction, he can tell the unit to ignore vehicles traveling away from him.

They can also display both the fastest target, and the largest target at the same time. So if you are driving faster than the bus you just passes, the officer will see the bus speed AND the motorcycles speed.

I know they are not "invisible", but when I had my DRZ the speed readers on the highway construction zones would NOT pick up the DRZ. It would register cars around me, but when I went by them with no other cars around, NOTHING.

I did just get my first ticket ever on a motorcycle, so I know there's enough metal in my Hayabusa:busted:

I've tested those radar "boards" to warn you of your speed. Just this weekend, I watched as a car got picked up just over the crest of a hill. Me(L) behind a ways didn't trigger that until fairly close to the radar. I could have easily slowed before it got a read. I know from experience though that bikes can be picked off at a distance when no one is around. Same scenario, but with cop and trailing a rocket(me riding gsxr1000). He came over the hill, and Immediatley put the lights on, told us to pull over. After a lecture and a 105 in a 55, I putted home. The ticket did state radar, but I questioned the even #105mph...so did my lawyer. I accepted the ticket at the time knowing it'll plea down, and we were moving faster than 105 and slowing and didn't want to piss off the cop at the time. He already did me a favor by not arresting me or impounding my bike. Shoulda run, but was riding with a fellow law enforcement guy from another county and always got cut breaks with the badge. He was even nervous he was going to get a ticket , but didn't and laughed as the cop pulled away!!!!!!750$ later it was reduced to a 65 in a 55 2 points on my license. Sold the bike a month later. Got more into dual sport, and didn't look back.

By the way my stepfather is a speeding fool and world traveler, and performance bike rider. He uses a Valentine radar detector, in the states and has only gotten one ticket. He asked the cop how he came at the ticked speed, and pointed to a small aircraft in the sky. Overseas he's gotten tickets in new zealand and a few other countries you can't just buy your way out of. He just flew back home after his trip and never answered the speeding tickets never to here about them again!!!

Anyone been tagged by a laser yet?? I would imagine it would be a pain to pinpoint our little headlight as our profile on the road is small. Couple that with other traffic, and 55 mph+.

I got pulled over by a CHP using Lidar. He was behind four vehicals as I was coming head on. I saw him and looked down as I was breaking and the GPS said, "56mph" in a 55 zone. His Lidar had me at what he said, an even 70mph as I was coming onto a crowded intersection. There was noway, I showed him the time stamped GPS for every 10 seconds before and after the time he said, his Lidar read. He let me go......I was doing 62 well before the intersection, you could see the gradual drop as the cruse control was released and then you could see the hit of the brakes from 58 (I saw 56 when I looked down after hitting the brake) and the constant down till the stop at the signal where he turn the lights on me after he turned around.

I don't trust there head on reading with those things and it is stupid to think they can get an accurate reading through other car windows.
