Any luck selling? NOT ME.

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had any luck selling a bike of any kind lately? I've been trying off and on to sell my WR for a year now and I've still got it. I've got it priced at $4000. Its the cheapest 05 in the TT ads. Its not junk. I know the bike shops are dead right now. Am I going to have to wait till tax refund time to sell it?

I think my location is what has me screwed. WR's aren't exactly popular here. I had a lot of calls about it from March to May with it in the TT ads but no buyers. I had it priced at $4500 then and no one tried to talk me down on the price. Its $500 less now. I just don't want to make the payment anymore. I even have a "real" title for it because the dealership put it in as street-legal.

Some people would kill to have a bike like that registered as street legal:bonk: Why don't you just plate it and ride it around town?

Wait, aren't you the guy that wants to sell one of the most well rounded, most durable off road enduro bikes for a quad ?

I understand now ?

Good luck selling it, may the next owner properly appreciate it:p

J/P its all in good fun ?

Bought mine of Craig's List as well. A plated '03 WR450 with tons of upgrades (GYTR carbon fiber pipe, pro tapers, ims pegs, proguards, 04 starter mod, tall soft seat, ims tank, etc etc).

All for $2500. LOVE this bike. Think it took the guy a while to sell it so he was willing to haggle a bit.

You should list that puppy on any Craigslist in CA. if it is street legal you can transfer reg's easier than trying to get one you buy here dmv'd

I would suggest WA state too........ all of our elected officials are retards here when it comes to dual sporting bikes like WR's ?

You can go to Schucks here and get a chickety china XR100 knock off and get a plate with it but just try and take your WR down to the DOL for a plate.... the left coast sucks some time ?

Its not street legal now. I didn't want to pay the taxes so I turned the plate in. I DO have a REAL title instead of a bill of sale so you could get another plate for it real easy. It doesn't say "off-road" anywhere on it so as far as they know its a streetbike. I'd sell it to China for US cash but they are on their own on getting it there.

I hear you there! The F@#$ officails are morons! ? I cant get my 02 WR426 plated and it pisses me off. ? I may try to "sell" it to a friend in Idaho or Oregon, have them plate it, then "buy" it back. :bonk: But I have heard that they are even restricting this. :ride: If they would let you DS offroad bikes they would make a lot more money in taxes, liscening, etc. :worthy:
