Not that is a problem here, but B-Squared has issued a request that members refrain from circumventing the profanity filters. Anything that would normally be substituted by *****, but is bypassed by some keyboard creativity, will result in an infraction. After a time, once the idea has sunk in, more drastic steps will be instituted such as suspension and/or outright bans. We have a couple of smilies that get the point across, so please use those instead. If those don't suffice, there're a ton of other ones out there that you can use by inserting one as an IMG file, just be smart about it. Thanks for your cooperation, I know y'all will make me proud...SC

From the TT Rulebook...

ThumperTalk is a PG13 community. This means no excessive profanity, vulgarity, graphic or sexually explicit content.

This is a privately owned entity and they have the right to govern it how they see fit. Those who don't agree, need not play. In my real life, I swear all the time, but I don't have a problem maintaining a sense of decorum on TT. You can get your point across just as effectively without four-letter words, you just have to exercise that mush in your skull a little more. Party on ...SC

I swear a lot in my daily life too, but refrain here on TT. I feel its a respect thing and shows some class.

Now, if one slips out every once and a while, what the hell:censored: Some of these thread debates like tire pressure and oil can get kinda heated...

Ah, touché! I don't know where the smiley went. Probably nixed due to the new policy. I have a bunch of good ones saved in my Photobucket portfolio when the proper occasion arises...SC

Nope... These are businesses that signed up, ignored the rules they agreed to about no unauthorized commerical use of the site (spamming) and got their website addy blocked.

The fact remains, TT is free to all because of our sponsors and we're not allowing others to take for free what our sponsors pay for. No sponsors = no TT and while I'm not sure about you, I'm not too comfy with that idea. If a business doesn't want to have their site blocked, the answer is simple: don't spam. Seems simple enough. I think what happens is they figure the site is so active it will probably go unnoticed. A few slip by, but eventually surface. Most are caught in minutes.

I'm half of B-squared.

Trust me, you'd not like it if we didn't censor anything. This site would fill up with so much worthless non-sense, spam, graphic images, porn and personal attacks it would be worthless. We've been moderating nearly the same way for right at 7 years and I think the success of the site speaks for itself.

We don't want to be all things to all people. Never have. We want is to be the most valuable resource to the off-road enthusiast on the planet in a way that is fun, positive and respectful.

Some just want Internet pissing matches because they need more drama in their life. They don't seem to last too long on TT. We want people that ask good questions, answer questions to the best of their ability, treat others with courtesy and respect and of course, have a passion for off-roading. I think most TT'ers fit that bill.

Guess who doesn't spam our site? Of course, this list isn't exhaustive, but you get the point.
