Hello All,

I'm new here and I'm new to riding dirt. I've been to the MX track in Friend, NE and the one by Greenwood NE right off i-80. Having fun at both, but I'm looking for new places. Please post some of your favorite places in the area for MX and Trails and why. Thanks Guys!

BobfromOmaha - Welcome to the state that the dirtbike Gods have forgotten! I'll be brief...let me know if you have further questions.

- River Valley OHV (over the 13th st/L st. bridge in Iowa)
- Trails
- Small mini MX track
- $16/bike/year (get you access to ALL IA public riding...it's just that RV is the closest)

- The Quarry (Union, NE) (about 30 miles south of Omaha on Hwy 75)
- 1-mile natural terrain track
- Some trails, but not many
- Must be interested in round-n-round track riding to really enjoy
- $10/day, $150/single membership, $200/family membership

- Soaring Edge MX (you found that one...Greenwood): http://www.neraceway...gEdge/index.php
- White Sands MX (not far from Soaring Edge...Ashland): http://www.wsraceway.com/
- Razors Edge MX (Haven't been there yet, but I hear it's nice. MX and SX tracks): http://www.razorsedgemx.com/

- There are some private membership clubs within in a couple hours, but I've heard their costs are anywhere from $600/year - $2000/lifetime (if you can even get in.) One of them is Timber Ridge: http://www.peelout.net/

Iowa Public Riding: http://www.iowaohv.c...e2.asp?pg=rules

I'm sure there's more, but I think that's the basics. Usually, when we try to get folks together, we post a thread in this Midwest forum that has usually has "Omaha" in the title somewhere. Keep an eye out and feel free to join us or pipe up with any suggestions you might have.

Welcome BobFromOmaha. You say you're new to riding dirt have you done any other type of motorcycle riding?

Nedirtbikr gave you a pretty good run down of whats out there for riding opportunity. The main thing is go just go out there and ride. And if you get to River Valley you'll know real soon why we call ourselves the "Rut Riders"

I've owned 3 different street bikes over the years. I actually owned an enduro way back when as well.

I do however it's on my cell phone and the phone is in the truck (I'm too lazy to go get it.) I'll PM you tomorrow with it.

I forogt...we are in D-22 of the AMA. If you're interested in Enduros and/or Harescrambles, visit this site: http://www.iera22.com/ . You do have to be an AMA member and D-22 member to participate in the races. The races do have A/B/C classes, but most of them also have a "Sportsman" or "Trailrider" class. Basically, it's the class that us average joe riders participate in. The class where you're there for the fun/challenge of it rather than expecting to podium.

Just want to say, AMA district 22 is actually Iowa, not Nebraska. Nebraska is 33.

Good point. I guess since NE doesn't really offer much, I just consider myself a D22-er.
