Did your bike come with the hard plastic skid plate? It won't take any real big hits, but from my experience it seems as strong as some of those expensive carbon fiber skid plates.

Yes it did. But I race off road and I'm worried about the exposed area in front, like the starter. In my races we see a lot of rocks, stumps, limbs, tree's, etc.

I talked to Chas at the factory today and he said the one's coming stock on the C and E model (which started shipping on Sat.) will bolt onto the X and he will have a price and part # in less than 2 weeks.

Also Cycra is working on an oversized tank that should be ready soon.

John and all 'dale owners,
I'll be contacting Pro Armor in HB, California tomorrow. I'm offering my bike to pattern a skid plate from. I let you know if they're interested in making skid plates for 'dales.

I am testing for Cannondale as well as I work for Carbon Fiber Works. I am going to the factory in Feb. so we plan to make some trick parts for the Cannondale bikes and quads. And our carbon is built in the USA as well. Ben Asaff

Ben, I talked to someone (don't remember who) at CFW the other day. They told me they would have one (yours I guess?) down there for bike week.

I also requested a fuel pump guard of some kind. Looks like it can be done. Also the swingarm is machined for a rear disc guard, but the factory isn't going to offer one. Maybe ya'll can do that too?

Good news for us 'dale enthusiasts. Pro Armor is going to produce 'dale armor. I'll be dropping my bike there next week for the fab work. I'll scan photos to e-mail anyone interested in the product.

Talk to you later,

Kevin

Just an FYI guys,
Four strokes only has access to 'dale plates now. Sorry, I don't have any other info. If you need something immediately you might drop them a line. I'll get the info out on Pro Armor as soon as my bike is done.

RTL, who are you with? How about a contact # or some pics? I want to make sure it covers everything I want before I buy. Thanks.

Any news on the skid plates? I talked to chaz at the cannondale factory and he said that the factory aluminum skid plates were the same size as the plastic one. That is definately not enough for me. In some of the washes around here the case area hits the rocks almost as much as the wheels! :)

I just ordered a skid plate for my x440s from utahsportcycle.com. I also ordered a kick-stand. The guy said that since the cannondale frame was wider at the bottom that they even made the skid plate thicker and it does not use the factory mounts. They both sound real nice. I think I will have them on friday and will post my thoughts on both.
