Front Forks

Goods morning to one and all, recently got myself a 94 XR600 and am having great fun on it, just one problem, the front forks are of the cartridge type and when you check the air pressure in them when the bike is on the ground one reads 9lb and the other 16lb, does anybody know what the correct reading should be.

While you can put air in them to stiffen them up a little, the normal amount is 0 psi. When the forks move a little air and get sucked in with each stroke. That slowly builds up air pressure.

Run the forks with 0 PSI, bleed them occasionally while riding to release built-up pressure.

Make sure your front wheel is off the ground or has no weight when bleeding the pressure.
