I have a 2003 xr650l and was changing the back brakes when i noticed that the caliper piston did not have a top or lid and the piston was open on the brake side. I have never noticed one that was open before.

I have looked at the books I have but none show this piston well enough to tell if it is broke or that is the normal. Does anyone know?

Normal for just about any disk-brake caliper piston.
