Anyone have a weekend ride report. I took off (1st time this year).
Any big turnouts, fights at the finish line (009)? How were the track conditions? etc, etc, etc?? Did vomit fall in any ruts??

I thought it was "walnut no matter what".... I had to work or I would have whopped on everyone.
Anyone's got some results?

I raced Walnut on Sunday. The track was perfect and we had a decent turnout. I really enjoy Walnut because they allow pit bikes and it gives you something to do between motos. My son also had a great time riding around the pits. Perfect weather and I can't think of another group of people that I'd rather hang out with. Everyone was really cool and talking to everyone in the pits was, as always, entertaining. I did not ride up to the level of competition in my class and it seemed that everyone was just plain better at that track. I got a chance to meet Matt228 and he actually passed me in the race (i'm an "A" rider and he's a "B" so this isn't suppossed to happen). I was impressed with his riding. We had around 13-14 guys in +25 and I finished around 8-9th.

My take on the track....Walnut is a really cool layout. I haven't been there for a year or so and they made some nice changes. The soil is nice and loamy. It got nice and rough towards the end of the first motos and this made everything more interesting. It's a nice change of pace to have a track were you get to open up a little. Again...props to Matt228 for riding well and let's get this weekend figured out (i'm thinking Byron...camping Sunday night with my boys).

520, it was nice to finally meet you!

To be honest, I thought you had something go wrong in the first moto when I passed you, but thanks for all the nice words. I hadn't ridden in 3 weeks (since the last Mendota) but for some reason I was feeling really good on the bike yesterday. Everything just seemed to click, ya know?

Well almost everything...my dad had thrown a new back tire on for me the night before (I know, I know, I've got it good) but when I got on the bike to go to practice it was flat. So I'm thinking, great, this was a waste of a day cuz I couldn't leave since my brother was racing and we didn't have the tools or supplies to fix a flat. Well I decided to see if it would maybe hold air for a while and it did! The needle in the valve stem was sticking but I somehow made it un-stick and all was good. I still ended up racing with about 20lbs of air in the tire which is less then ideal, but I guess I made it work.

In the end, it was an awesome day of moto. Got to talk with lavens763 for a while as well as get roosted by him for the first half of the first lap of the second moto before he gapped me :busted: Got to ride a great track that had (GASP!) some pretty sweet ruts in it! Got to hang out with my brother who I don't see much anymore all day long. Got to remember what it feels like to be a beginner again when I jumped the triple out of the back "hole" and landed off the side of the track and missed the following table top  (Good thing 520 didn't see me, he probably would have protested me :smirk:) And most importantly, got to get out on the bike and have a good time

The next Walnut? I hope so, the way Bob had the track yesterday after all the rain we got was unbelievable. I think everyone was expecting a wet, soupy track when we showed up but it ended up being PERFECT. You could tell that he did a lot of work on Saturday.

Actually, the track might have been too perfect because it seemed like a lot of people were going down from maybe pushing too hard and the EMTs were busy all day. They weren't going down because of ruts or mud or anything like that, they were going down because the track was ideal for racing and you could just let it hang out. I mean, I got pushed to the outside in the first turn of my first moto and literally held the gas on wide open all the way around it, that's how good the dirt was yesterday :worthy:

:foul: :smirk:

If you want to talk about somebody needing to be bumped, you guys should have seen Kyle Corman yesterday. Kid was winning B class by 30-40 seconds and actually beat an A rider in 14*24 by probably 15 seconds.

Of course, he is getting support from Suzuki and they don't want him to move to A yet and are using the rest of this year to see how much they're going to pay him next year.

Good thing you didn't get any money:applause: cause once you get paid u can't race B no more:naughty: and I'd be complaining faster than the two guys that protested me last week:p

here's my theory on sandbagging. If you're faster than me you should be moved up, so I can win my class. I should always finish first. if you beat me, you're a sandbagger.

Hey, that's my theory too! Looks like you'll be moving to A next Mendota, huh? :excuseme:
