The owner of this post, Chevytrkn1, asked about a "crankcase breather" mod I mentioned earlier. This mod vents the crankcase to the ground rather than the airbox.

This is Blackdog9's mod not mine! Thanks to Blackdog9!

I used the closed-end clear plastic tube on the breather instead of the copper plug that Blackdog9 did. You'll see!

15 miles on the bike? Dump the oil and change out the filter, then do it again in another 100 miles. You'll thank me later...SC

SC, good avice... I wish the manual included this instruction. The 07 manual break in instructions are not very detailed at all. I did my first oil change at 200 (easy street only) miles. This is my first WR... I thought i was being safe... I hope everythig is gonna be ok later on down the line.

Since then, I have changed oil twice at 400 mile intervals. Recently at 1000 miles I switched to Mobil 1 Racing 4T full synthetic, put in a new scott's stainless steel filter and I could not be happier with the performance of the bike.

How do you like that Scotts Stabilizer? Do you do a triple clamp or stock?

I love the thing! I bought it for my last bike and put it on this thing! I noticed the improved handling immediately! On rocky and root infested climbs the bike is point and shoot. Pick the spot, look for a moment and look on for the next. The stabilizer helps prevent the rocks and roots from slapping the bars around

On rough faster areas you can let go of the bars and the bike tracks straight!

I did the bar mount out of the box from Scotts! The machining is a work of art!

Changed oil again tonight, put another 50 miles on it. I cant beelive how much more confident i feel on this bike versus my xr. I can run alot faster on the rough stuff

Started some of the mods today, unabiker rad. gaurds installed, ais removed. carb JD rejetted(bugger to get at) regreased rear linkage. rest of the part be here tuesday, get it done and let ya know the difference

I came off the XR too. I feel like I gained 10 years of riding experience in a week.

I saw the same thing. It looked like either dust or gainy plastic. I wiped my finger on the airboot and nothing showed up

Ran no-toil oil this weekend and dust showed up for real. ? . Gonna try either the maxima FFT oil or the twin air bio stuff.

I didn't like the twin air that much. Oil migrated to the bottom of the filter and once I even found a small puddle of air filter oil in the airbox. Never had that problem with No Toil.

got most the mods done, ais ,jd jetted, throttle stop,etc. still waiting on exhaust. took for a short spin tonight it awsome. i think it will run right next to my modded cr 500 in a drag race. front wheel lifts up to 4rth gear

Ive got about 225 miles on it now, a few good narly long trail rides, anyways love the bike, hate the stock front tire. anyone have a favorite front tire, for all around trail conditions? thanks
