valves going out of spec?

how often do the valves of an 03 yz450f go out of spec? if ever..totally stock bike?..thanx

Maybe never. I think Grayracers 03 has the original shims in the buckets.

My 03 has had one valve need to be shimmed in the ~2 years I have owned it. Checked them yesterday, and they are still exactly where they were around X-mas time.

Bike is stock, but is riden fairly hard on MX tracks. I've been happy with it so far (although I plan on buyying a new bike next summer).

my 03 450 now a 470 also has original valve train....the bike is bullet proof with 2 adjustments in 4yrs and lots of hrs :thumbsup:

My 2000 still had a few of the stock shims in it when I checked them last week. I only had to change them by 1 shim size.
