yeah California sucks. It's the liberals in charge of this state that have screwed things up. I also have an "E" model and was told to expect a red sticker. My plans are to dual sport the bike...and i've heard that if you register it out of state (which isnt suppose to be too hard) than transfer it into Calif you can get a street legal plate. Not sure if that can work for the red/green sticker ordeal, but a street plate works like a green sticker as far as access is concerned. If this doesn't work, maybe i'll just ride around with one of the "license applied for" plates on the bike :)

My friend bought the first 400E to hit the showroom in SoCal. He got a green sticker with it and slapped the new Baja kit on it and was able to get a plate! Now all of the lcal dealers are telling people they are Red Stickered. It turns out that the first few bikes off the line had slightly different engine numbers that the ones on the floors now!

Also, rumor has it that Baja Designs stopped selling the kit because of this! Anyone else hear the same?
