Hello Everyone,

Picked up my new DR-Z400S Thursday night
(4/13/00) I love this bike. Almost bought
the XR650L so my wife and I would have more
fun riding together. Then my wife said
get the bike thats going to be more fun when
you go out on your own. She said she didn't know much about motorcycles but she thought the DR looked lighter and more fun. Though I never did ride the XR I think she was right. I turned all the suspension settings to stiff and filled the tank with gas. That's the extent of my modifications. Today the Tailight loosened up where the lens is mounted to base. Removal of 2 nuts and a rubber base cover revealed the 2 loose screws. Fixed it in the woods, in the rain in less than 10 minutes. (Even this was a little fun.) I got to step back and admire what I think is one of the most beautiful machines around. I am going to use a little lock-tight or a star washer on those two screws because I think they may loosen again.
If I come up with any unique mod's I'll post again. Right now I feel like most of you guys are more advanced than I am so I suspect I will get more out of this group than I can contribute. I ride in RI and hope to hear from some locals.
Good Luck Gang, nice goup here.

Welcome to the gang.

Yes, the S is a hot looking bike, my bike lives just outside on the patio, so I can just sit there and admire it.

Have bought a 13 tooth sprocket and have yet to mount it, will also pick up some Acerbis accessories next week, will post the pictures when I am done - will also put in my order for the IMS tank when next I am at the dealer.

The weather here in Indy the past two weeks has been pretty dismal, only managed to ride once, hopefully this will change in the next few weeks.

Alan
