No problem, I just received an e-mail back from Baja Designs http://www.bajadesigns.com and they have just the natural in stock (what color is that !?), and are still awaiting delivery of the yellow and white tanks - their number is (800) 422-5292

BunguBasher
Natural is the translucent color you see on bikes. you can see the gas in the tank. it is very nice to have on L O N G rides when you are worried about how much gas you have. another benefit to Natural is for 2-strokes. you can put hash marks on the outside to let you know how much gas( if you are sharing a gas can with someone else) you put in your bike so you can get the oil ratio right.
it's disadvantage.....it tends to get stained from oil and red dirt.

Went to the Baja Designs site and i didn't see anything for the DR-Z. saw a LOT of crap for the non-selling(atleast here in the EAST) XR-650R, though.

Speaking of which, I was at the local Suzuki/Honda dealer yesterday and a new DRZ400 and XR650R where sitting right next to each other. I leaned both bikes over to get a feel for their perceived weight.
OH MAN THAT xr650r IS A MAJOR TANK ! !
Probably a fast bike if you don't have to turn.
Another funny thing happened. The salesman was dealing with a customer that was contemplating the purchase of a new DRZ400. When I rudely butted in and told them both that my friends DRZ was dead even with my YZ timed WR400 in a drag race, the guy said, 'I'll take it!'.
Shouldn't I get commision for that sale?

You should have tried your test with an XR600. You want to talk tank. It's a WWI model! The 650 stock pipe is supposed to weigh almost 10 lbs! I don't know if the comment included the header. Anyway, It's a "must do" aftermarket mod - normal for an XR.
Bill Z,
My dealer (Sun) has already sold their entire allotment of 650's and we are still covered in snow. They are planning on trading eastern dealers for theirs. Different strokes for different folks.
Sorry to go off topic, I just got a little red.

I weighted my pipe On the drz400e. It weighted 7.5lbs for just the rear section.

Jake that's what i meant. that it isn't and won't sell well in the East. It's a great Western(open areas.....well that's nearly a misnomer in itself with all the land closure BS going on) bike.
kick a BLM manager for me.
