I hope someone can shed some light on this for me. I ride a XR650R 2006 and the last three times that I have checked my valves the right intake has been the only valve out of adjustment. It has only been out by proabably .oo1 each time but I'm confused why it's only on the right side. I check the valves about every 1000 km and the bike has about 9000 km on it.

The intake valves on the XR650R are made of to soft of a metal and have been a problem from the beginning. When you take the head off and remove the valves you will see that the intake valves have dished a lot. Sounds like the right one is softer the left. I was looking for the pictures I had of the intake valve and what they look like after only 3000 miles.

This is most likely the problem. This is not just a problem with the 650R, the 400R and the 250R suffer from it too.
