What octane petrol should I be using for this bike (petrol=gas), I know the bike with its lower compression ration can run with unleaded 87, but I would like to know if sticking with aleaded fuel and higher octane will give better performance, and also prolong engine life ?!

Hey Sir Bundu. Unless your bike is pinging or detonating on regular gas, running premium will make no difference in how it runs or add any horsepower. It will however cost you more $$$$ If you are having visions of your girly man 'S' model keeping up with my uncorked and jetted 'E' model I think you would be better off trying rocket fuel :)

I was under the impression that leaded fuel was somehow better for an engine, and did improve the performance.

Don't tempt me i_carumba, all I have to do is up my compression, add the pumper carb, stick on the Yoshi exhaust, re-jet, bore out to 420, lose 20-30 pounds of weight (that's 10-15 kg's) and all you will ever see of me is dust :D ...... hahaha - ahem, with my stock gearing, flat out I may just smoke ya, get 90mph out of this baby (150kmh to ya)

No, I don't want an E/WR/YZ killer, just want a little bit more outa the baby :)

I think leaded fuel reduces detonation and adds some surface to surface lubrication.
