Hey Joe.
When I complained about the DRZ suspension, I guess I should have clerified.

I ride my WR suspension as soft as possible. This keeps it on the ground over rocks and roots etc. much better. But, I keep it stiff enough to keep it from bottoming out.

When I rode the Suzuki DRZ, I loved the suspension in the tight stuff over rocks. It tracked great! And out east, that's the kind of terrain you ride. But I rode it over some big-ass whoops too. In Colorado, we get tight and twisty, we get high speed desert, we get narley and technical, and we get everything in between. So, for that all around type of riding, it would need a little work for me. But, springs are pretty cheap eh? I agree, for the type of riding it was designed for, it seems to work just fine.

P.S. scarymyth put on his Yoshi pipe this weekend and I hope he'll report in on how it runs. But, the weather here in Denver SUCKS this weekend so he could only ride on the street! By the way, scarymyth grew up riding and racing motorcycles and mountain bikes in Indiana and Ohio. After riding that terrain, riding in Colorado is EASY for him and he kicks everybodys butt!

Joe...You'll love the DRZ, the suspension is perfect for woods.I live in TN and the ONLY time I didn't like the suspension was when I rode on a friends track with some big jumps. If that was something I done very often id revalve it,but its perfect for eastern woods and rocks much better bike than my xr 400.As for reliability only time will tell, but so far so good.

i run B-Class Harescrambles and really like the bike. it's a little heavy, but feels light while riding. it does not wear you out.
a little extra fork oil helps bottoming a good deal.....still it could have more bottoming resistance.
it is a fantastic woods bike. handles roots and rocks very well and has more than enough power. power delivery is VERY SMOOTH!!

Dear friends and countrymen:

I installed the Yoshi slip-on this past weekend. First thing you'd notice is that it is damn loud. I switched back and forth (it only takes 5 minutes) and found the following:

1) It is noticebly quicker.
2) It is damn loud.
3) The power is delivered in more rapid fashion. i.e. it comes on stronger from idle.
4) It is damn loud.
5) Power seems to be most improved in the low to mid range.

In case you are wondering, this pipe trades off a quieter, smoother power-band for a quicker, yet noisier bike. Since it is such an easy switch (kudos to Yoshi), I have taken it off and will save it for those times when I think I need it - or perhaps I'll sell it... But for pooching around the neighborhood, it's lame. Babies cry, dogs yelp, and the local mounties are surely unimpressed.

Perhaps I'll put it on for an enduro or when I ride with some fast dudes. Now if I could only convince these bench racers and their WR's to try competing in an enduro...

In case you're wondering, I did re-jet. And man was that a bitch.

So scarymyth ... how much you want for that durn silencer ... huh ?! (what do they cost ?) - maybe the "S" could do with this pipe ??!! - also, would I need to rejet, or can one fit this exhaust as is ?

I recently turned-up the tension on my forks (2 clicks) and turned the nut on the rear shock 2 revolutions tighter.

I WAS AMAZED...It handles like a totally different bike.
Alot stiffer over big hits, but not too much so.
My butt can tell the biggest difference... :)
