I am about 180 pounds and constantly bottom out the front and back suspension on my DRZ400. I have heard others suggest changing the oil weight or height, but I really do not think that will help me. It is especially bad on whoops.

Has anyone got new springs for there DRZ yet? What other mods can I do? Are springs easy to install myself if I'm somewhat mechanically inclined? How about the back.

im about 180-190 with full gear and havnt had any such problems, have you chack your clicker adjyustments, maybe try that. if you want thicker oil ive heard that 10 is too soft and 15 will beat you to death but a 50/50 mix (12.5) works great, maybe a respring is in order. as far as doing it yourself it isnt too difficult, just make sure to get a manual or rebuild procedure so you know how to do it properly and waht level to fill em up to. good luck

Spring rate as stock is close to your weight. You probably ought to crank in some more compression damping. Do it 4 clicks at a time. Once it feels to 'hard', start backing it back one click at a time.

Oil weight does help, but it is not a huge difference. However, fluid level in the forks makes a huge difference. It effects the bottom 4 inches or so of travel. You will not notice it on the soft stuff, only the hard. Springs are not going to make that big of differece either. The dampener is what absorbs the load. If you don't believe me, try riding your bike with no oil in the forks. You'll figure it out quick

Suckered me in too. Now I am going to have to look at the date.
