Anyone have any tips for getting one of these DRZ's street legal? Was thinking of the Baja designs kit, but was wondering if I simpler fix could be had.
All I need is the high/low beam and indicator, brake light and horn, (rear view mirror to get through inspections), all I want is to legalize it enough to get it tagged and inspected to use on fire roads in the National Forests and keep the Forestry Department happy. Any of you have any suggestions or exp. in doing this.
Dr. Billz, if that's you in the phot gallery, looks like you have already done it.

Thanks!!

See Scarymyth's dual sport post. I am dualsporting my DRZ400E. It is already insured and plated, no inspection required here. I am currently installing signals, mirrors, brake light etc. I am not going to hook up a high beam unless I find I need it. If my turnsignals arrive tomorrow I should be done this weekend. I will post a picture or two.

Yeah, I'd love just to tag mine and be done with it.
However, what type of issues would you come across with the Forestry Service, etc. if they saw you riding on the National Forest fire roads. The horn, signals, etc. are need to obtain a state inspection....or do you skip that and just get a tag, and if so how do ya'll do that (get the tag).
Thanks for any ideas...I'm new to trying to "legalize" a dirt bike.

Thanks,

i keep renewing the one off my '90 XR600 or is it the one off my '98 KX250 or was it the '93 KDX or the '96 XR400 :)

i ride on the road very rarely. sometimes i need it for an enduro or dual sport ride.

if i rode more on the road i'd get one for the DRZ........which i'm working on.

here's what happens here:
"i need a license for this titled motorcyle"
funny looks
"is that a 4-wheeler?"
"no it's a motorcycle, unless they shorted me 2 wheels"
"oh, ok, here's your tags. that'll be $15.00"
