Not too much of a detailed test but positive statements about the bike. My only problem is that they used a team yamaha rider, can anyone say "biased opinion"? However it seems clear the new bike will be a better turner than previous models which to me is the most important thing.

I'd like to ride an 08 because I can't imagine a bike turning any better than my 06. I just went to the track yesterday after a 4 month vacation from the track and I was humming around turns (and the rest of the track) faster than ever.:excuseme: Maybe you have to be really good or really bad to :bonk: notice a big differnce.

I am just a Sen B rider but even my friends notice i corner a lot better on the suzuki with stock suspention.:excuseme:

My bike is a 2007 YZ450F with suspention done.

I only buy yamaha, so i put it up for sale and hope the 2008 turns better.

OH the new KAW did feel real nice, front end was awsome. Never did get the chance to ride a Honda.:banghead:

Or maybe your not fast enough to notice ?

....Or maybe too many people jump on the MX magazine bandwagon, and trick themselves into believing everything the mags say. I on the otherhand just go on what I feel.

... or maybe I just ride out of control, and It doesn't matter how my bike handles, because I handle it.

.... or maybe I'm just giving you a hard time, but really the 06 and 07 handle like a dream. Just like when the 07 came out, everybody was like, it handles so good now, way better than the 06. Now the 08 comes out and everybody is like, it handles so much better than that 07 pig.:excuseme:

I guess Grey and I are the only ones who like our 06's:crazy:

I luv my 06...it works perfect for me now that I have made it right....no need for a 07 or 08. :applause:

But I was upgrading every year before I got old and Racing became a number way down the list of priorities for me.....:excuseme:

Bingo on the power of MX Mags and add me to the list of folks that like their '06 YZ450F, but nothing beats the smell of a new bike...?

Grant Langston seems to like the turning on his new 2008.
Your point is??? Since I'm pretty sure GL and my skill level are a bit different.
From what I've seen, Langston is a bit different from almost everyone.

And I'm pretty sure Langston doesn't have a say in what year bike he rides. They build it and he rides it. Who knows, maybe he asked his mechanic to set it up like an 06:excuseme: you never know.

before I bought my '07, I spent all winter digesting all the mag's shootout writeups to help in my decision. I was mainly curious about what the mags had to say about the engines, and the overall handeling.... and like I said a million times, all the mags loved the '07 YZ450. It didn't do anything "stellar" but it did everything great, and the YZ was "SO EASY TO RIDE".......... That sold me, end of story.....

I't would be kinda dumb for me to upgrade to an '08 for what I do......

x2

except for me it's the 06.

I figure if I can lead my class on an 06, why spend more money for an newer bike to attain the same results. At most I will by a different set of triple clamps.

The other thing to consider:prof:

Think about this for a second...

the 06 came out dec 05 - jan/feb 06..............or there about

the 07s came out nov/dec 06 - jan 07 right?

now th 08s are out july 07

seems to me Yami released these all relatively close together........I can only assume to try to capture some of the lost mkt share to honda or :naughty:

so for many of us that say the 06 is fine....my logic is...in reality it still is not that old of a bike...mine does not have that many hrs...it has taken me some time to sort it out with suspension and now handling tricks.

And after a injury in april my riding time has diminished until lately. So after I add the bling...which is in process....I will have, what I say is still the best bike I have ever owned...so no reason for me to buy up this year.

geez...makes one wonder when the 09 will be released......if it is typical yamaha (based on the 00-02 426 and the 03-05 450)...this should be approx in nov dec/08....this is a long time, but pleanty of time to retool for a completely new and completely changed 450. But what if it comes out in jan -july 08???hmmmmmmmm

....as yamaha 450 history might repeat...a completely new model ever 3 yrs....

so it seems to me....08s are early releases in 07s in the case of yama and Kawi

Honda - sept/oct 07....Suzuki is the only 08 to come out in 08....

What is going on here....is this all about mkt share or Fuel Injection testing?
