Dumb Question - Oil under stator cover?

May be a stupid question, but when I take off the center plug to turn the crank to check my valve clearances, oil comes out. Is this normal? Again, please refrain from the flames, I don't remember this on previous bikes..

Yes this is normal. The WR stator is bathed in oil.

Thanks! - I only have experience with two-smokes which are, of course, dry under there.
