Might be old news to a few of you, but the '08 WR450F is up on the Yamaha website and looks to be just BNG.

If that's the case, there should be no reason to get a '08 over cheap run out '07. :prof:

The did something to the clutch to make it less noisy. It is pretty noisy, especially when the exhaust isn't. Other than that its the same ole bikey :D

Oh they got a thicker heavier gas tank for the evaporative emissions bullshit the EPA/CARB has goin on

Yeah, but I wasn't gonna wait 2 months and pay a $1500 USD premium for an 08:prof:

Most of you guys over there cry at the slightest bit of noise.
I have seen people on here complain about the stock WR can volumes! :banghead:

But the real reason comes down to emissions. Choke the bike down and you get less exhaust gasses.

My thoughts exactly....it'll be a while before any major changes occur.

We are so frekn SPOILED here in the USA. We have NO idea how SPOILED we are with 3 or 4 different brands all scratching to outdo each other for our money!

Look what you got: fantastic KLX, WR & for '08 Honda forced to do several noteworthy handling upgrades. For '09 Suzuki will in all likelihood have the first Big-4 Japanese 450 off-road w/ FI. Altitude change? Swap jets? What jets? WE AIN'T GOT NO STINKIN JETS!

We ARE SPOILED ROTTEN!

No joke. Try selling an 05 for any money at all when apparently you can still buy 05's and 06's new around every corner.

(What is "BNG"? )

My favorite Japanese off-road, except it just arrived spring '07 & they're unavailable used, is the Kawi KLX450F. The primary reason is fit; Im 6-3, 230 lbs wearing only my diaper (big baby huh?). Less important reasons are the Kawi dealer crew & proximity to my trailer park

the 08 is mostly a carry over of a 07. there are a few things that are changed ,but not really anything worth extra money.

1 a better clutch cage and black covers ( I put in a rekluse)
2 graphix ( I put on a ims fuel tank and yz shrouds)
3 jetting ( I rejetted mine like there is a chance they were right)
4 fuel tank - still too small

so I think you should just get a 07 and get the stuff you want.

WORD, I just bought the SSS forks and slid them on my 07 WR. The best and biggest change I could of made. What I would of expected Yamaha to do, is put the best fork on its bike, not the out dated suspension the 08's showed up with. Jeff S

Apologies, newb on board: What is "SSS" fork? Cost? (In case an '07-'08 WR450F finds its way into my garage one day.)
