Yesterday I went out to my local crap pit track, and I am cranking out my usuall regiment of 4 laps before I almost feel like I am ready to pass out from arm pump, and I sense someone showing me a wheel it's a YZ 125 2 stroke.... I pretty much know everyone who rides at this pit track, and this guy is a new face. I hang in there as long as I can, and then I need to stop before I really pile myself from riding tired... I stop for a water break, and the guy is going at a pretty good pace I would guess a real fast novice, or maybe a fresh amatuer.... The guy stops and takes off his helmet, and it's gotta be a 15 year "young" guy..... nice kid with a great, relaxed attitude, so we hit it off well talking. He comments he just got the 125 a few months ago, and has only been riding about a year and a half!!! I congratulated him on his excelled ability. I then mentally comment to myself I am getting old. I've got 22 years under my belt, and this kid was sticking right with me NO problem....man these kids nowadays excell SO fast, or i'm just gettin' old! :), but hey, lets give a cheer for "Team Rogaine/Metamucil", cause at least the big white YZ450F held the young gun off from passing me !!!

when I took my boy out riding when he first started there was a kid on a 65 that we were having trouble keeping up with !!!!! At the next arena cross here in town that kid lapped the field in his class, but still a 65 ????
the only was I can keep up is to cheat.
where do you sign up for that team, I could be a charter member.

As long as I can get my leg up over the seat, I am gonna ride. After that, I guess I will have to learn how to ride a YFZ450F quad.......

Old guys remember this:

"Youth and talent is no replacement for age and treatchery (at least for 1 lap) ......"

Yeah, well, remember that when you're not young anymore, OK?

I hear when you ride for team Viagra/Cialis, your front fender stands up on end...

Can't help but notice that Grey removed his age from his profile as I did. I was getting harrassed by a younger riding buddy of mine (642MX) He told me that he didn't think the age counter went that high.

My reply to him was - What does it feel like to have a +40 rider run off and leave you! Older off-roaders never die! They just get faster!

I had a buddy (non-rider) ask me just yesterday "aren't you getting too old for that stuff?" and I was actually kind of shocked because it had never occured to me...but then I look at *most* guys my age and realize that they are golf-for-thrills, TV watching, wine drinking, going-to-baby-showers-with-their-wives couch potatos that get a good work out by mowing the lawn once a week.

When I separated my shoulder last year all I heard was "see, you're getting too old for that" and all I could think was "man, you're too young to already be dead"

Grayracer's age is a closely held secret, clues to which are occasionally posted, but never collected.

When I was 41, I was racing bicycles, and I was in the best physical condition of any time in my life. I trained by riding 200 miles a week, and I used to squat 400 pounds in 3 sets of 15 during my weight training. That year, I took a bronze in the Vets regional Match Sprints (mostly through the use of strategy, I admit).

Now, I recall what Satchel Paige said on the subject: "How old would you be if you didn't know how old you were?"

And usual response to someone calling me old is: "If you stop making so many mistakes you might live to be my age."

I broke my neck back in 95, c1-c2. pretty scary deal. Did not think I ever be able to get back in to riding. Have been back riding for about 3 yrs now. I love it. Will ride evertime I get a chance. Yes I am part of the "over 40" class, but I am still fast/smart enough to put it on the kids we ride with, for a little while anyway. I have to be way more careful now.
wiz, I have a golfing buddie that rides with us, when the golf thing don't get in the way. I told him he is nutz. You can golf anytime. lets ride !!!!!

Golf is ok and I do like to play occasionally....ironically, it hurts my damn back:foul:
.....most of my racer/riding buddies local gave up riding for golf....they try to get me out there every weekend and during the week - when my schedule allows....I shot a 87 a few weeks ago,,,about the best I can do golf wise
I just keep telling them golf is for PU$$**** and retired ex motocrossers who's wives won't let them ride anymore....or those that lost the passion to get dirty:cry:

Team Viagra/Cialis.......is a DikeBiken MXer all the way....
I just hope the body can take it a while longer.....

mine too, I hurt way more from golf, it's the rotation thing, than I ever hurt from riding
plus I suck less on the bike than I do golfing.
87 is pretty salty !!!! i have shot that on 9 at times !!!!
