Were can I get a stock YZ 400 tank and seat

I think I like the way the stock YZ tank/seat looks on the WR better than the clarke, the clarke looks like it is almost the wrong color and at the top of the tank were the cap goes, it is lifted like an inch or so, whats that about? Does any one have a clarke? I also don't think I want the IMS because of the whole petcock thing {wrong side, to close to pipe}. Can anyone else with either of these tanks tell me any differant? The stock tank is only 2.0g or something, right?

I JUST ran home to see if UPS delivered my new OEM YZ tank and seat... Yep, they did and it looks sweet! Nice and narrow. Exactly what I ordered and then some.. If any of you are going the OEM YZ route, CALL EL CAJON and talk to Jared!!! (See link on this site) He was great to deal with and hooked me up with some great (for OEM) pricing!! I ordered the OEM YZ seat assembly, OEM YZ tank and Jared threw in a set of One Industries/Motoworld graphics AND a One Industries/Motoworld seat cover FREE of charge!! I highly recommend dealing with them. MENTION this forum too! Jared was very appreciative of the link on this site and promised that he'd take good care of us at ThumperTalk. ?

I have the Clarke tank, the color matches my other plastic perfectly, it bolted right on with no problems AND it only costs $145.00!

Yeah, I knew that IMS had the seat for less $$, but I also heard that it was a touch taller and stiffer than OEM. I figured for the few extra bucks, I wasn't going to take the chance.

As far as the Clarke or any other aftermarket tank, I've only seen those in the larger capacity. My thought process was that I wanted to go slimmer and lighter and I wasn't too concerned about fuel capacity. I wanted the change to be as drastic as possible and I didn't want to take the chance a have a "slightly" slimmer tank.

Put that all together AND through in the graphics kit and seat cover... I'm hoping it's a pretty good deal...

The stock YZ tank is nice--I got a used one for $100 and spent another $140 for the seat base, soft standard height foam, and a grippy cover. I too am not overly concerned about range, so a light, slim, correctly fitting tank was the way to go. Handling is improved tremendously, but my impression was that all the aftermarket tanks are appx the same width. Maybe we should ask everone to measure their tanks and provide a chart on the technical section.

Always ask around at your local dealers for used stuff before bying. I just bought a stock YZ tank with a Doug Henry replica seat and YZ fenders and number plate for 170$. The guy had just replaced all the plastic on his bike to help it sell and put the stock tank back on. also if you don't ride at night those lights are a good place to loose some lb's.

The IMS seat feels lower that the OEM unit. I feel like I touch the ground better. It maybe the "narrowness" of the seat that allows me to touch better? I do agree it is harder than stock. But not to the point of giving me monkey-butt.

(I did check all the local dealers for used though, but nothing was available)
