Our patients ride the stationary bike one hour per day, everyday.

But the way I fix most things are different from from most other docs.

You should check with your doctor.

i can't stand stationary bikes, so as soon as i possibly could (about 6 weeks after injury/surgery) i started riding my grownup outdoor bike. i can't walk yet, but i'm pedaling 16 miles home from work today and riding to work in the morning.

you should be able to do some upper body weights too, to keep from going crazy during your rehab.

if you're young and dumb, try to take it extra easy with anything that might knock your hardware loose. you don't want to go back under the knife just from being impatient.

I went to Dr. Mark for a broken tib which he rodded. I was riding the stationary bike 3 days after surgery. Two weeks after I was back outside biking and walking with no crutches. I was also back in the gym. Its like nothing happened. Tonight 11 weeks out I'm doing a triathlon. Hopefully, next week I'll be back on the dirtbike.
