Thats the first thing I replaced followed by a needed voltage regulator/rectifier.


So I started do the tests in the manual yesturday and the (resistance) pick up coil measured strange...
Then the bike wouldn't even run long enough to do the voltage tests ... so today I ordered
a Ricky Stator DC setup, hopefully its here by friday .


Didn't see that you had already did that.

Today i have fitted new impeller shaft, impeller, seals and an oil and filter change after a water seal failure a coulpe of weeks ago. After a good ride today it seems the new seal has worked and there is no oil/water contamination so with any luck I have not warped the head or done any damage to the head gasket.

I have also fitted new mudguards and an e bay bargain of a Magura hydraulic clutch conversion which for the first time ever for a bargain works first time!

Loaded the WR in the truck for the 2 hr drive to our trail system and worked trail in the am, then rode two loops after lunch with two of my best buddies. Dirt was very nice today on new S12's. It was like velcro.image.jpg

Finally took it out for a good trail ride since making it street legal. Now that I have a ride on the set up I need to make some changes. Gearing needs to go back to close to where I had it when it was off road only(don't plan on logging too many high speed miles I have a FZ1 for that),the MT21's got to go I just don't like them for most surfaces. The only place I do like them is on packed gravel without a lot of marbles on top. And finally need to re adjust the Rekluse EXP.

Washed it, installed a new chain guide block and made a grab handle out of an old paracord bracelet.

went for a night ride. you can't see very well when your headlight is pointed at the sky at 40mph :)

Any tips on how to make one? I don't have any cord put I definitely need to put something like this on the front of my bike. Thanks!

I just ordered some paracord and looked up youtube videos and whatnot online and went for it. Made a few for friends and some zipper pulls too. Paracord is cheap so buy extra.

Last weekend , in an effort to solve my cutting out issue I installed a new Ricky Stator setup
the bike put up a good fight but I got it in there.

Got the lights all wired to a switch and and all was good.......started it up and 30 seconds later it died and wouldn't refire .

So there I was planning my suicide, and decided to pull apart the splice I did for the tach lead to +coil wire
( I used one of these )

Once I pulled it apart I saw the metal part of the splice had cut thru most of the coil wire that had maybe only
8 strands left intact . I hope this is the problem.

I would stay away from those splicers. I had one cut through a wire eventually and it was on there for years. Taking the extra time to solder it or installing some of those barrel plugs that Baja Designs uses would probably be best. I needed a quick fix since I was going the next day and don't have a soldering iron or any connectors to I just twisted the wires together really tight and put a good layer of heat shrink over it.

SIGH......It did the same crap ran perfect for a bit then just stopped......

So my buddy let me take his for a spin, after 2 months without riding I was not gentle to the
bike or myself. I got a lot of riding/adrenaline in, in a short amount of time thats for sure.

I really feel it is electrical, so that leaves me with my CDI , that my buddy tried on his bike in his garage already and it
ran fine , but I need to put his CDI on my bike and take it for a ride to really test. Hhmm how do I do that ?

I have got it ! I should get said riding buddy too hammerd to drive home and convince him to lock his bike
in my garage so it doesnt get stolen then swap CDI's ( he said it was cool ) . No that won't work ....or will it ??

Took off the nut-buster Clarke tank, ADVmonster secondary LED, and front fender pack. redid some of the wiring loom too. That Baja Designs headlight is extremely bright


someone trade me your IMS for my Clarke!
