tensil strength on chain??

i need to replace the chain on my 03 yz450f..i wanted to know what the min. tensil strength of the chain should be? i know it differs from a 2 stroke bike because of the torque...any help? thanx-josh

The truth is that the importance of the tensile strength of a chain is somewhat over rated, and some people will spend an unnecessary amount of money chasing the big numbers. Anything over 6500-7000 psi should be adequate. The power of the engine will never be capable of snapping that. Running a chain too tight could produce that kind of force, though.

What's more important is how well a chain resists wear.
