Ok, so I can go dirt biking for 3 days no problem, go rock climbing no problem, go mountain biking no problem, then I step off a curb the wrong way and I throw my back out and am looking at a week of hobbling around. Seems to happen about once a year, been going on for 20 years. Seen a couple of doctor's about it and they never seem to find any major problem. Did it again last week - no idea how, and I am still hurting. Just wondering if this happens to anyone else.

Yep, been happening to me for years. :bonk: I usually just strap on a kidney belt under my shirt for a couple of days and it goes away. :ride:

I've had sneezes and caughs mess me up. In May I was just getting over the flu and couldn't stop caughing for about 10 minutes. That did it. Two months later and I'm still dealing with it.

Yes it happens to me. About 12 years ago I herniated L4/5 and had a bulge in the next disc up. I did it lifting my bike off the stand. Since then I have had a bunch of flares ups, the last being about 2wks ago. I was hobbling around for about 1 wk. I went to my Dr. and other than giving me a script for muscle relaxers and pain killers, he said there wasnt really anything he could do.

I stretch everyday, ride my spinning bike 3days on 1 day off for the last year and go through a strengthening program called the MedEx healthy back program. Unfortunately, I still have a flare ups. I guess its something we have to live with, learn to manage and try to minimize.
