So I ordered some Rental Fat Bars, Ricky Carmichael High Bend.

They were on backordered at Rocky Mtn for like 2 months (serious).

Finally, after emailing every 2 weeks, they said my order had shipped.

When I took the stock bars off and compared to what came IN MY CORRECTLY LABELED Rental box (that is, RC HIGH) the bars look VERY close to the same size as the stockers.

I didn't think much of it (the RSW Triple added some serious height and I MIGHT just happy with the way it is) but I was at the local motorcycle dealer and saw a REAL pair of RC High Fat bars in the box and they are VASTLY different than what was sent to me...much, much higher.

My delimma is this...do I go through the hassle of contacting RM to tell them of this issue....go through the hassle of removing the bars..(not too bad)...accept the risk that the RC HIgh bar may just be too TALL? Or just take in the a$$ and be happy?

I guess I'm just pissed that I waited 2 months with a backorder and then they shipped me the wrong handlebars....infact, it makes me wonder if they just didn't stick another pair in a box to fill my backorder...(oddly the end of the Fat Bar box does say RC High..so I don't get it?).

There seems to be an ID number on the bar itself...shouldn't it identify which bar I really got?

Thanks for listening.

I bet RM will take them back if you explain that you discovered they were the wrong bars only after you installed them. I seriously doubt anyone did any intentional switching of bars to fill your order. That doesn't make sense to me.

Good luck.

I agree-RM has always been good to deal with and I have been a very happy customer. I would call customer service and explain the situation.
