Not to spam everyone but i'm finally releasing the Transformx moto endurance system. you can find the protoype pics on manandmachine.com. and on Racer x virtual trainer. We did an early showing at the Racer X open house just before High Point.

I have shown the early prototypes to Aldon Baker (RC and Ben Townley's trainer) and Brain Hagen from UPMC (Broc Heplers trainer) and they both said that this system is the first device that is truly MOTO specific. Give it a look and let me know what you think.

Thanks

Rob

So what do these actually do? I checked out the website and all the information it had was that it was going to be released on 7-21-07. And also, how do you use it? I couldn't tell from the picture you had on the website how the system works. Thanks.

Matt,
The Transformx started out in 2001 as a set of 2002 CRF 450 bars with some hooks welded to it so that I could train with Motocross hand and upper body positioning. The bar has evolved into the transformx. The Transformx has a patented hub that is attached to the center of a motocross handlebar. The hub has two positions or what we call first and second gear. the bar ends have telescoping and swiveling "D" ring rods for attaching DURABANDS. Because the DURABANDS are attached to the ends of the Transformx and in the center they work for lateral pulling (like in turns or whipping your bike) as well linear pulling that a conventional machine can only do.

The first position (first gear) is designed for pull-ups, up-right rows and reverse curls. the hook that you see in the photos can be used for a dumbell or a pull up bar. DURABAND handles fit in the hook perfectly as well.

The second position (second gear) is designed for push ups (in the attack position) and seated rows. We have been testing the Transformx with the Concept2 rowing machines and DURABANDS. Greg Hammond from Concept2, Brian Hagen from DURABAND and myself are all Motocross riders and we have all found the three fitness machines with proper methods to be perfect for MX training and rehabing from injuries.

I have managed to break both wrists and right ankle. Training with the Transformx bar has been really effective and it helps keep me motivated because it is similar to riding when your training.

feel free to give me a ring anytime. I love to talk moto and training.

Don't know if i mentioned that I will be at Lorretta's with the Transformx from the 30th thru the third of Aug.

so it's basically an attachment to various cable workout machines? Is the theory that you're working out in a similar hand/arm position and building up strength/endurance consistent and beneficial to riding?

Yes, you are correct in a very basic way of explaining the Transformx.

It does so much more though. Example: Push-ups, curls, (it can be used with most free weight Dumbells), pull-ups, and one of the most important elements of its design is the TRIAD DURABAND attachments for twisting and lateral strength, balance and endurance training. Training the muscle groups the you would exhaust during riding. There are some really effective training excersizes in the instructional DVD. We are releasing a full training video in the fall that will include the Concept2 rower, DURABANDS and weight training excersizes.

We are also releasing Mini version of the Transformx Bar that can be upgraded to adult version when the Mini bar becomes to small. This shows the kids in the sport of MX proper training regimens that are Moto specific, kids are more apt to use the bar because it looks like a motocross handlebar. It looks really cool. Increasing core strength and balance also help to reduce injurys.

OK someone has to explain me the link between a motocross specific resistance training device and endurance as a whole.

If a motocrosser or any dirt rider becomes physically strained too early for his own taste, then maybe he should investigate fitness routines, better diet and lifestyle.

If his hands and wrists become tired after a while, then maybe such device can help, but I would only see it as an anecdotal exercise on top of a series of exercises.

Now I would have to try it to tell. I don't want to sound like I'm peeing in your wheaties, here, it's just my $.02.

You are a very smart cookie and you are absolutely correct. I also agree that being healthy is more than doing excercise. To be successful in any sport it is neccessary to have innate skill, live a lifestyle that includes a proper diet, stress control and a training regimen that includes a sports specific program. The Tranformx is designed to give you an advantage and to make training more focused.

The transformx is designed to work with a multitude of excercise machines and to allow lateral core strength increases with improved balance. The Transformx is designed to accompany you in every excercise not just one anecdotal excercise. Unless you ride with your hands off of the handlebars which I do not reccomend unless your name is Travis Pastrana, and by the way I am shipping his on Wednesday of next week.

I agree, you should try one.

A lot of people will be skeptical until the benefits you claim can be proven :excuseme: I'll definitely look forward to the video so I can get a better understanding of it in use.

The big question, is it really gonna do much more for a person than any of these?

maybe you are more of a pumpkin pie. In the mean time enjoy hitting home runs with your golf clubs, bowling with your baseball and my personal favorite medicine ball frisbee.

ummm, okay. At least you have a sense of humor...you'll probably need it.
I'm seriously wondering how tiger woods, hank aaron, and ricky carmichael have dominated without specific cable attachments that look like a golf club, a baseball bat, and "my personal favorite", a frickin handlebar.

I was simply inquiring...you got cute...not good marketing

Now, Now you don't have to break out the "F" word. Humor is always good, and being cute is important too. It is very good marketing.

RacerX VIRTUAL TRAINER www.racerxvt.com will be realeasing a test of the Transformx in about two weeks. Give it a read and see what you think. I really appreciate the inquiry and the interest. the forums are fun and i do enjoy the verbal jousting. There is a possibility that we will be going to Thunder Valley MX. I have been there and it's a great track. If we can make it to Colorado you can test a TX.

Thanks again for you interest and your opinions they are valuable.

The Transformx test will post on thurs on www.Racerxvt.com Check it out. The article that Dr. Sanders posted on Transworldmx.com is very relevant to the Transformx moto endurance system principle. Training muscles in way that is sports specific is vital to becoming your best and preventing injury.

Sorry that we missed Thunder Valley. Lorretta's preparation is taking more time than expected.
