This is my 2007 450 supermoto project bike. It will be street legal when I'm done. Trying to find a balance between modern race bike and the "classic" retro Yamaha look.

Mods so far include:

- black powdercoated frame

- side cases and head painted with TLTD - a thermal dispersant that sheds heat more than bare metal

- yellow Hurricane plastic and graphics

- custom backgrounds/airbox/rear fender graphics by Dirt Digits

- black anodized and engraved 13mm offset triple clamps by Tri Star

- Marchesini wheels

- Michelin Pilot Powers

- suspension revalved by Mach 1 motorsports - valving as used by Steve Drew, Casey Yarrow, Danny Casey

- Hinson clutch basket and slipper clutch

- STB oversize black clutch cover (120ml xtra volume)

- Ready Racing acc pump linkage

- R & D Power Bowl

- 15/44 gearing via Driven sprockets w/ gold RK chain

- Ready oil filter w/ cover

- black Acerbis fork guards and side panels

- gold Pro Taper bars

- black powdercoated Cycra handguard setup

- gold SME sliders front and rear

- yellow CV4 radiator hoses

- FMF 4.1 carbon pipe w/ Ti megabomb header

- gold powdercoated motor mounts and shock linkage

- yellow Factory Connection shock spring

- Magura 4 piston radial front caliper w/ Factory Pro Racing adapter

- EBC gold 320mm front disc

- Hyde Racing frame guards

- gold anodized timing covers

- Graves chain block

- electrosport 50W stator

- Acerbis front headlight/plate

- Baja Designs rear tail light

- Trail Tech kickstand

Stuff on order/waiting for:

- PWR stage 3 cooling kit (oversize radiators w/ integral oil cooler)

- Graves front master cylinder and brake line

- swingarm and front fork guard graphics ( will probably powdercoat the swingarm black also)

The bike is awesome. If I may make a suggestion though, take the monster energy sticker off of the air box. I'm so tired of everyone having a monster energy sticker on their bike its not even funny. It's your bike though and I just don't like that sticker. It just makes it seem like it's some energy drinking 14 yo's bike.

Thanks for the compliments guys

Steve - I'll take a gold one.

Jay - not too bad, just need to get my lights and other electical stuff hooked up, then get the state inspection. Others have already done it.

Duster - Young Gun Coatings (division of Big Gun Exhausts) does it - check it out here: http://www.youngguncoatings.com/coatings.html

the thermal dispersant (TLTD) is sold thru WWW.techlinecoatings.com , but they will only sell to a shop

Nitro - thanks, but I like it ?

Ben - you forgot to mention carburator, clutch cable/lever, throttle/cables, grips, left foot peg, radiators/hoses, and kickstart lever! ? I definitely still have a LOT to do, just showin everyone how the project is goin so far. I'll probably PC the swingarm - Team Scream got me leaning that way - wasn't gonna at first, but now I think I will. Subframe will stay natural. Don't know about the step seat - have to ride the bike first. I'm 6', so not sure if I want the riding position even more cramped. We'll see.

Yeah, I missed those other things, I just don't know how you ride without them, I guess at least it cuts down on a fair bit of weight! As for the step seat, you can add foam to the top rear of the stock seat. http://www.gutsracing.com/pages/catalogpages/stepseatbuy.html I kinda know what you mean though, David Knight pretty much sits on the back of his seat 'cause he's so tall.

Heya Doc,

that thing is SICK, you did a great job and it looks amazing bro!

I notice that you went with the Magura radial mount caliper which is awesome, I just bought one for the bike I am building for the wifey.

Is that one of Kirks brackets for the caliper? Did you powder coat that or anodize it?

Also what front rotor are you using? I went with the Magura rotor as well since I have it on my CRF race bike and they work great.

Make sure you grind a little bevel on the leading and trailing edges of all 4 brake pads or you will get some squealing, it is the design of the brake pad that causes this but it is easily fixed by filing or grinding the leading and trailing edges of the pads at about a 45 degree angle.

What master cylinder are you using for the front brake?

Everything looks really good bro!

Fantastic job!

Scream

Dauv - thanks. Yes, got the bracket from Kirk - he anodized it for me. Rotor is the EBC - same as on my DRZ. thanks for the heads up on the brake pads, I'll do that. Right now, I'm really looking at the MC that Graves has out. Brake line is included so I don't have to have one custom made, and I like how the line goes straight into the MC instead of bolting on with a banjo bolt.

Chris - yea, the DRZ is a little un-loved recently!
