Hey All,

I took my first long ride on my new-to-me '00 XR650L yesterday - about 400 miles roundtrip. I was very impressed the way it cruised easily between 70 - 85 mph with some stretches a little above 90 mph. (no traffic, nice highways)

The bike handled the trip easily although I can't say the same for my butt. I'm going to have to look into some aftermarket seats if I am going to do many of these trips. Any suggestions?

Other than having a HUGE, juicy June bug rock my world at about 80 mph and almost blow out the lens of my sunglasses, it was a great ride!

Yep, thought it was going to take my head off. Plus, I had bug juice all over my face...

There is a new link showing the gel inserts, but you have to cut open your seat for that. It looks comfortable though! Where did you ride to?
